Odds and Prediction: Gonzaga Bulldogs vs Saint Mary’s Gaels Jan 21, 2016 College Basketball Picks and Parlays
It’s a clash of the titans in West Coast Conference as 25th-ranked Gonzaga travels to Saint Mary’s on Thursday night.
The Gaels, 15-2 and 6-1 in the WCC, are one of the nation’s best defensive teams allowing just 58 points a game (third-best in the nation).
They will get a real test from the Zags, who feature one of the better scorers in the nation in Kyle Wiltjer. The 6-10 senior averages 22.4 points a game for a Gonzaga team that scores over 80 per night.
Coach Mark Few’s team has lost four times by a grand total of 12 points. They dropped one-point decisions to BYU just last week and a ranked Texas A&M team back in December and have a five-point loss to a then No. 19 Arizona.
Gonzaga Bulldogs vs Saint Mary’s Gaels Jan 21, 2016 – College Basketball – Question: Who’s gonna win the game?
— Free Sports Picks (@DBanks522) January 21, 2016
Saint Mary’s has one of the most balanced lineups in the country. Leading scorer Emmett Naar averages 13.8 points per game and backcourt mate Joe Rahon adds 10 points and 6.8 assists. Jock Landale, a 6-11 center, adds 10.4 points and 5.2 rebounds.
The Gaels can go eight players deep and head coach Randy Bennett likes to go to his bench to make sure his defenders are fresh. Defense will be a key on Thursday and besides Wiltjer, Saint Mary’s will have to contend with 6-11 Domantas Sabonis who averages 17.8 points and 10.9 rebounds a game.

Landale will have a tough task ahead of him. If he can hold Sabonis in check and the perimeter defense takes away the barrage of 3-pointers that the Zags like to attempt, the Gaels could add another key win to their NCAA tournament resume.
